Reading Skills, S2, UE1
In this practice-led course that builds on the Reading Skills course of the first semester we will develop reading strategies to extract information, evaluate the argumentative structure of research papers. The main focus will be on the critical reading of an essay’s argument. Students will be invited to discuss the quality of the argument in research papers related to their own research areas. We will pay special attention to structural and linguistic devices and work on what critical reading is. Students will be asked to make a critical presentation of research papers to the group.
